Market researcher Dittberner ranks France as number one in the IPTV market based on the market of subscribers with almost 900,000 subscribers. The report highlights the Wester Europe region as a whole as leading this market with 68% of global IPTV subscribers.
Here at Glowria we're proud to see this not only as a French company, but as a company working hard to deliver video on demand via broadband and specific IPTV over DSL offerings throughout France.
It's also worth reading the Telephone Online article where the US market ranking is adjusted to count small providers - a point which moves the US higher in rankings.
Hello. We are on the market developing complete IPTV solutions in Russia. I guess that a number of IPTV subscribers in Russia will explode very soon, as far as right now ISPs and other telecoms companies now deploy a lot of IPTV solutions over the country. The situation on the market is not stable now, and most probably it will constantly change within a few next years. I guess that it's not possible now to determine the absolute leader in IPTV now. Maybe Russia, or any other contry will become the leader very soon.

There are a number of reasons for the maturity of the French market:
- tight planning restrictions on satellite dishes in major cities,
- good ADSL 2+ infrastructure,
- a (very!) competitive broadband market
Anyone else?
